The Best Time.........Posted by MAG
Im in the camp that the best time to boost would be any day 1st thing in the morning. Usually LP isn't even on site, or if they are, they are usually doing adminstrative tasks, inventory, exception reporting etc... and not really focusing on customers. Plus the employees are not their sharpest at that time, everything is just a big blur until they get their mojo going. The employees also have alot of set up things to do so they are generally distracted, and uninvolved when a customer comes in, hell, if you are really stealthy, you can be in and out without anyone ever knowing your there. Another advantage of coming in early is the employees are sometime stocking items that are locked up, and they sometimes have to run in the back to retreive something leaving the high priced items on a cart...opportunity=success ![]() I was in an unamed store one time and this associate left 10 16 GB Apple itouches on a dolley and went in the back to get something. I wont tell you the end of this story, but Im sure you can imagine...... Your thoughts Never approach a bull from the front, a horse from the rear or a fool from any direction.
You could call the store and ask to speak with LP. Smart long term employees will tell you they are not available if they are not there, the newer employees may just tell you they arent in yet. It sounds so simple its stupid. You may even tell the person that answers the phone you are from corporate LP, they probably wouldnt question you.

You sir, are on the wrong side of the game All in the Game baby....All in the Game.
I will bet that will work in most cases as only the higher security stores will have schooled the switchboard on how to react to such calls. Knowing the store’s terminology will be helpful as well, such if you as for security you will be told we do not have security, if you as for loss control you get a manger on duty, if you ask for electronics you get the real LPs. Don’t pose as corporate LP they have my direct number and would not go though the switchboard, pose as a LP from another store wanting info IE…you just busted a kid that has some of your merchandise, would you mind coming down to ID it and add to their charge. Watch who leaves the store with paperwork maybe even a camera. You just bought yourself free time. This is hit and miss in malls some LPs are friendly with other stores and know the other stores LPs some have no clue.
You could pose as a potential LP but you run the risk of them coming out. Or you can be stupid and apply and then steal and have your name available to LP when they call Police. Yes, I've heard of that happening but the guy was a little mental. Best times are any time. Most stores anticipate start and end as being target times. Some SL's swear by lunch hour and the crowds hiding them. Others prefer when store is empty so they can spot LP or employees eying them up. To each their own. If your time is up to get caught, you get caught. Personally I say avoid patterns. If you lift in the morning and get away, then don't hit the same store or chain for 3-6 months.

Yes, I've heard of that happening but the Yeah, I had one girl pocket several bottles of perfume them go to the desk and fill out an application for a job...

Well if both hands are full of items I can see it, they need one hand to permently hold their pants up. One guy bought two shirts at one store in the mall and came in to mine to steal a couple pairs of pants. When confronted he threw the bag that had the pants and shirts at the officer and ran. He called a few hours later and wanted to know if he could send someone in to get his shirts ($88.00 each). I told him he had to come in so he could sign the lost and found sheet. He was smart enough not to come back. There was no need to track her down with her info we stopped her at the door.
Friend of mine got busted buying clothes and using a stolen credit. Reason she wanted the new clothes. She had a court date the next day on a theft and wanted something nice to wear. I've heard of people attending court for drunk driving and suspended licence. Get caught driving away from court.
