For the people who do not beleive in god, they most likely also dont believe in miracles, they see whatever happens as luck, or coincidence.

Then there are the people that believe in god, believe in miracles and everything happening for a reason.

Now, the people who don't beleive in god, and miracles, they feel that whatever happens, they are on their own; That fills them with fear.

If humans in the future are able to clone other humans, and there really is a god, does that mean that that god gets to punish the clones if they do something bad? God didn't create the clones though and it states that god is our creator and therfore has power over us.

Sooooo....I haven't read ALL the posts in here, but this being "Is there a God" forum, I will say yes, there is. My definition of God, is that higher being, ultimate energy that we all become a part of when we die. There's got to be more than just living and dying. What happens when we die? No one really can answer that and nknow for sure that they're correct. We just have to wait and die to see what happens, and than find out for ourselves. No one can tell us the answer. Or at least no one can tell us the answer without us knowing if they're right or wrong...If that's the case though, our short, miniscule lives are for nothing. What's the point of folowing laws and having order? We might as well live for pleasure and enjoyment only. I suppose the only purpose for a job would be so we CAN actually have fun...you know, money to buy this and that, do this and that, go here and there...but if nothing happens when we die, we might as well take someone else's @!#$ instead of working hard to earn it for ourselves. If there' s no God, forget about kicking someone's ass if they piss you off, simply kill them like you would a cow so you can have dinner. Ultimately, there really is no consequece. There's no punishment in "[covetting our neighbors possesions]". The only punishment would be that we'd get arrested, but @!#$ the law if there's nothing to live for except your self and the ones you love/care for. There's no need to "do unto others as we would want done to us." The bible was just written by some group of really old authors...Not! But than again, who knows...There's much good to believe in God though. It gives the poor something to look foward to...some hope in life. Hope keeps us going...If we don't have hope, what's the purpose of us going on any further...? There is no purpose if there is no hope in attaining or achieving what it is we want. Back to the subject of God...it all brings us back to the question...how was the world/universe created? Well....you just have to believe in your own answer...because there's lots of theories and explanations out there...it's just up to finding out which one is right, and proving it. As for me...I like believing in a God. There's no harm in it. And it helps people to at least attempt living better lives. How were human beings created? Do you believe that our perception is generated by the brain?

What I mean by this is when you see, hear, smell, touch or taste, what is doing the perceiving besides your sensory organs? When you watch a film for example you must formulate an opinion. Thats the part of self doing that. Its what Descartes described as being beyond reasonable doubt (since your senses can sometimes deceive you)

That part of the perceiving brain is as yet undiscovered by psycologists and neurologists.

Are you of the belief that the consciousness is generated by the brain, (the lurking 90% of our brains)? or would you say that our consciousness is seperate from the body?

If you believe in the first one, you are what is known as a materialist
