- 3.3 lbs. Munton & Fison hopped amber malt extract syrup
- 2 lbs. dark dry malt extract
- 2 oz. Fuggles hop pellets
- 1/2 oz East Kent Goldings hop plug for aroma
- 1 or 2 packets Munton & Fison Muntona ale yeast
- 2/3 cup corn sugar for priming
Bring 1-1/2 gallons cold water to a boil. Remove from heat and add extracts and Fuggles hop pellets. Return to heat ad boil 60 minutes. Remove from heat and add East Kent Goldings hop plug. Allow to steep for 5 minutes. Strain hot wort into a fermenter containing 1-1/2 gallons of chilled water. Rinse hops with 1/2 gallon boiled water. Top off up to 5 gallons. Pitch yeast when cool. Ferment at ale temperatures (65-70 degrees F). Bottle when fermentation ceases (7-10 days), using corn sugar for priming. It should be ready to drink in 2 weeks.
